For the most part, Technic sets fall
into a few major categories: construction equipment, farm
equipment, cars & trucks, etc. But there were a few sets
which defy categorization and really stand out from the rest. In
a few cases, this is just because they are weird and were not repeated
with good reason. But in most cases these are the most coveted
sets because they represent something that can only be found in this
one spot.
8480 is simply beyond compare. It
consistently rates as the most
beloved Technic set, and one of the best loved LEGO
®
sets in any series of all time. It has everything. Both
Control Center sets are also marvelous. The dinosaur of
8485 is
wholly unlike anything else ever done in Technic, and is executed
perfectly.
