The micro series was started in
1998, although it was never explicitly labeled as
such. These were much smaller than standard Technic sets, usually
only ~20 parts, and with only a very simple feature.
Stores often stocked these by the checkout aisles as impulse
purchases. The really tiny Micro sets only lasted a couple of
years, but mini models started appearing a few years later.
Some were simply models that weren't very big and were targeted at a
young audience, but others were actually miniature versions of larger
sets released in previous years. In many cases a mini set can be
easily matched up with its larger counterpart, but in other cases they
are unique.
Since these models have very little in common other than their size,
there is no comparison chart for this category.
