Associated RC10 Team Project

After losing my irreplaceable RC10 Classic in a fire, I ended up getting the Clear Edition as a display model instead.  At the time, that was the only option.  Fast forward and Team Associated began re-releasing lots of different versions of the RC10.  When they came out with the Team Car, I thought it was a good chance to have one I could drive again instead of just a display model.  The Team Car represents what could be achieved by adding some upgrades to the original, most notably the Stealth transmission and a lower profile body.  Many other less obvious changes are described in my build journal linked below.

Like the original this is a 2WD racing buggy with an aluminum tub chassis and four wheel double wishbone independent suspension.  I installed a Reedy 19T brushed motor to stay in the Associated family and put in modern 2.4GHz electronics.  I use a modern 2-cell hard Li-Po pack for power.  I'm not a good enough driver to comment on how much better this might be than the stock version, but I can say that it sure is fun to drive and handles much better than would be assumed for a decades old design.
