After losing my irreplaceable
RC10 Classic in a fire, I ended up getting the
Clear Edition
as a display model instead. Later I got the Team Edition to
actually drive, but then they came out with this Masami Edition which
was sufficiently different that I needed to have it as well. This
represents the version of the car that Masami Hirosaka used to win the
IFMAR world championship in 1989. It is substantially different
than the original with a black aluminum plate chassis (with carbon upper
deck) instead of the formed gold pan of most of the other RC10's,
different wheels and tires, and different suspension. There are
many other differences which I'll discuss in more detail in the build
journal below. Note that this version of the car was original
customized by Masami himself and was therefore never available as an
actual product. This is the first time it would be purchased
complete. Team Associated has continued to release a plethora
of RC10 variations, but with my total on the shelf now at 3 I'm calling
my collection done.
(Until I change my mind.)
This is a 2WD racing buggy with an aluminum
chassis and four wheel double wishbone independent suspension. I
just installed a silver can motor for display since I don't intend to
drive this one.
