We're not done with the plastic parts yet. Bag H-1 contains the
parts for the body. The body is laser cut and ready to go.
The plastic parts include a molded front grille with radiator, door
handles, wipers, gas cap, and tail lights. I installed them all
before painting the body to see how they would look. Of course I
took the opportunity to drive it around this way.
The body could be painted all one color, but because I'm not planning to
decorate it with any stickers, I figured I would go with a black hood
scoop and a white roof for some contrast. The main body is British
Racing Green. This all required a bit of masking, but it was not
too difficult.
The only stickers I applied were for the window seals and the
interior. Hey, it looks pretty good! I did have to install
some LED lights as well. This model uses unusual sided 10mm
headlights, so a special kit was required. I just went for simply,
always-on headlights and tail lights. No markers, turn signals,
brake lights, or reverse lights.
Here are some views of in the interior. I just went with straight
black with a simple silver dash panel. The rest is stickers.
Since the interior piece actually screws to the body, it serves to add a
lot of rigidity. The fuel cells in the bed are also integrated
with the interior panel.
