I already wrote about the build of my Black Edition Clod in great detail, so see that page for more information. I'll only show some highlights and differences here.
The box is just as massive as the others, and most of the weight is
those huge tires on the right. The hardware box isn't exactly
light either. There are no blister packs, but the contents are
well presented and separated.
Even though the chassis is effectively one part, the build takes a
surprisinly long time. There is a lot going on inside those
axles. All of the parts which were dark blue on the original and
red on the black edition are light blue here. Most obvious are the
bumpers and shocks. Everything else is classic Clod.
The body comes molded in dark gray already, and I could have almost
convinced myself not to paint it. Almost. It always looks
better painted though. This photo shows the body with the
accessories installed and no paint.
Here is the body installed on the chassis, still with no paint.
Wheels and tires are also installed (I did not paint the wheels).
The last photo is taken from a low angle because it shows the size
better.
