Tamiya TRF 414M Project
Page 1: Unboxing
The TRF 414M comes in a small box with a carrying handle like many
standalone chassis. There is no box art on this kind of box,
instead there is a sticker on the side with the relevant details about
the model and a picture. This version of the chassis is also
printed with some information on the front cover (in English).
Finding one of these still sealed in the box was a real accomplishment.
When the box is opened all you see is a layer of bubble wrap
enclosing and protecting all the parts. Once that is removed you
can see the plastic parts, hardware, and other parts. Note that
unlike many of Tamiya's high end chassis, this one comes with wheels and
tires. No body though.
Because TRF kits don't come with a body, the sticker sheet doesn't
represent any particular livery. These TRF 414M stickers are
unique to this model.
The photo on the left shows all of the parts laid out on my table, but
still within their internal packaging. Some of the plastic trees
are individually bagged, as is the chassis. The largest bag is
reserved for all the hardware which is not separated into step
groups. Everything must be opened at once. On the right I've
knolled all the parts, set out the manual, and have prepared to start
the build. Unlike the TRF 414X, this one has a proper manual.
