I
had previously built the Gmade GS-01 Komodo which I really liked.
When they came out with the GS-02F I figured I would probably need one,
and the body put me over the top. Though they've branded this as
the "Buffalo", it is clearly intended to be a mid '80s Chevy
Blazer. The body comes with a lot of scale plastic details such as
mirrors, wipers, door handles, fender flares, and a chunky roof
rack. This model is also available in a military version with a
different grille and bumper as well as different stickers.Like the GS-01, this is a ladder frame chassis with 4-link suspension. The GS-02F adds a two speed transmission, front wheel overdrive, counter-rotating drive shafts, and inner fenders as well as an overall different internal layout that results in a lower CG and more room for an interior. The Phillips screws of the original have also been updated to hex drive. All of the transmission and axle gears are beefy metal resulting in an overall heavy, quality feel.
I put a high end Hobbywing brushless system in this model which is incredibly smooth and capable. This has turned out to be an excellent crawler and trail truck in every way. I highly recommend it. Both the build and driving experience are very enjoyable.
Update: This model was destroyed in the 2022 fire. It has not been replaced.
