The pull-back racers are a series of Technic competitive play sets started in
2013 with two models typically being added each year. These models
feature a single function, a spring loaded pull-back motor. When
rolled backward on a floor, the rear wheels wind up a torsional spring
through a ratchet. When released, the wheels rotate forward at a
much higher rate due to different gearing when the ratchet is
released. The pull-back motor works very well except that the
tires tend to lose traction and slip once they get dirty. These
models are very durable for heavy play and are highly decorated with
stickers. The styles vary widely from off-road vehicles to racing
cars.
