A great buggy needs a great power system. At the
time I originally purchased and built the buggy I didn't have the money
for an appropriate set of electronics so I installed an old brushed
system with a slow crawler servo. Even with that the performance
was impressive. It was a couple of months before I got the system
shown: a Hobbywing racing system with a 5.5T sensored brushless motor
(5900kV), an ultra fast (0.04s @ 7.4V) Protek servo, and my first high
voltage (3.8V/cell) LiPo battery. I also used a Spektrum servo
with AVC (Active Vehicle Control) to help me tame all that power.
The results are shown on the right. Pictured are the Proline
Inversion tires I chose for on road use. I'm using softer Electron
tires for off road.
