Kyosho Optima Project

The release of the Kyosho Optima in 1985 started a revolution and a legacy that is still going strong 40 years later.  This was Kyosho's first 4WD off road buggy.  Many versions would follow including a Turbo version, a mid-motor version, and various combinations and special editions.  In the mid 2010's Kyosho started re-releasing their legendary buggies and this one became available in 20xx.  It took me too long to get it because I knew it was nearly the same as the Javelin which I'd previously built, but eventually I could no longer resist.

This is a 4WD off road chassis which originally used chain drive but now comes with on optional belt.  It uses a twin rail backbone chassis with four wheel double wishbone suspension and oil filled dampers.  I lot of that sounds familiar because many of those features are still in use today except that an aluminum plate would now be typical for a chassis.  Not surprisingly, this drives exactly the Javelin because it is exactly the same as the Javelin.  I love it.
