12 screws are used to attach the bottom panel to the frame which helps lock all the other assemblies together. Once it is on right, it should sit flush with the front and some tabs should lock into the rear bumper. I have the access panel removed because I am using that as the exit points for my LED wiring.
Sadly, nearly all the beutiful guts of the car are now totally hidden.
