After I finished with the black, I masked again to paint the power seat controls silver. This turned out to be a disaster. I used "buffing metallizer" paint which sounds pretty cool but has some nasty surprises. It is intended to be buffed and leaves a dry powder all over the painted surface. This immediately got on my fingers and then I left silver fingerprints all over my newly painted seats! I had to start over.
The second time I painted silver with a brush, but because it was so thin it ran behind the tape and doesn't look very good. I'll have to touch up the overrun with flat black.
