Model by Benjamin Wendl

Set 8832 was released in 1988, and was already the 4th Technic go cart.  This set features rack and pinion steering using the new steering parts and a swing arm rear axle suspension.  It is the first go cart to feature the specialized seat designed to fit a figure, although no figure comes with the set.

Features

Steering
The front wheels can be steered using a wheel at the driver's position.  The wheel drives an axle connected to a 8 tooth pinion gear.  The gear drives a new flexible rack.  The steering mechanism itself uses steering arms and toothed links.

This model effectively has tilt steering since the angle of the steering column can be changed.

Suspension
The rear axle uses a swing arm type suspension.  The arms are 6L beams.  A single central shock absorber provides support.  One of the new control arms is used as a vertical member to support the shock, as well as connect to the roll bar assembly.
