This small buggy released in 1996 continued the line of Tech Play vehicles for beginners. Steering and suspension had been present in buggies before, but the new presence of a seat made it possible to put a Technic figure in the buggy, and they fit the scale very nicely if you think of this as a go-kart sized vehicle. This buggy also added a flowing rear arch made from flex system tubing. This use of flex tubing as a decoration would become commonplace even though the flex system itself had been discontinued.

This buggy features rack and pinion steering as well as rear axle swing arm suspension.

Features
Steering The front wheels can be steered using a wheel at the driver's position. The wheel drives an axle connected to a 8 tooth pinion gear. The gear drives a flexible rack. The steering mechanism itself uses steering arms and toothed links.	Click for an animation of the steering in motion.
Suspension The rear suspension is a swing arm variety. A spring shock absorber supports the axle. Note that the axle to which the shock attaches is not the wheel axle, and in fact the rear wheels have no connection to each other.	Click for an animation of the suspension in motion.
Wheels and Tires This set has 4 of the smallest VR rubber tires and wheels.
